In 1900, the Richophone was a multi-player based game found in prestigious hotels and cafe's in and around London. The game was played from special Richophone booths, where players connected to the game through a system of telephones. The prizes to be won were very generous.

In the beautiful old city of Paris -- which is the capitol of France -- live Mister Boneparte and his two friends, Rosalie and Gaston. Rosalie is a turtle. She is very tame. When you stroke her under her turtle chin, she blinks her eyes and makes small gentle sounds of pleasure. Gaston is a talking bird. He is a black crow and very clever. He can speak almost as well as you and I. But he has a great, hoarse, croaking voice. Mister Bonaparte is a bird seller. Every Sunday morning he takes his song birds, in their little wooden cages, and loads them into his bicycle truck. He puts Rosalie in her special basket. Then Gaston flies up onto his shoulder and off they ride to the big Bird Market in the center of Paris.

You don't have to like birds to love this story. You don't even have to love Paris, though that helps. You do however need to have a good imagination, an admiration of friendship and a fancy for strawberries.

What happens to things that blow away,
Like bubbles you blew one sunny day?
Where did they all go anyway?
To the Attic of the Wind.
It's not an Attic you reach by stair--
It's past the clouds
and the stars somewhere!
And what will we find if we play up there
In the Attic of the Wind?

Well, one doesn't have to imagine for too too long...

There are autumn leaves
that the wind has swirled
From the far-off corners of all the world
And piled up high in a red-gold heap
So hundreds of children can play and leap.

Yes friends, here is the magical, wondrous place snowflakes and dandelion puffs and butterflies and birds and balloons and kites go when they float away toward the sky. Again, a tear jerker (at least for me) at the end...

Yes, the Attic of the Wind can store
All the world's lost treasure and even more...
The handkerchief you forgot to hold,
The spelling paper with the star of gold,
The picture you drew for Mother's Day,
All the things you somehow let drift away
Aren't exactly lost....
