posted on sep 29, 2010 (permalink)There must be a way to forget! I am still wondering why I cannot forget someone who cares so little for me, if he does at all. But that is precisely the reason - its his detachment, him being unattainable that drives me insane. And I feel that I am doing this to myself... I does not matter how much it hurts... No, it does... Are we addicted to this sweet pain?

posted on nov 07, 2010 (permalink)I know the feeling, but trust me - the trick is to stop trying to forget, and instead, remember. Remember everything, even if it makes you cry - they're not harmful tears, they're healing tears. It's counter-intuitive I know, but try it :)

posted on dec 17, 2010 (permalink)It is counter-intuitive, that is true and it is also true that it works. The law is "what you resist, persists." Not only we shift blame on others - "he ruined my life, he did this to me", but we also get stuck. Nobody does anything to you, that you don't allow to be done to do you. Believe me, I speak from bitter experience. My two big problems are submissiveness and dependence and it took me a long time even to recognize it. Not that I am so smart - I got help, that is all.
Trying to forget does not work. I was doing exercises on meditation - think about your worries, concentrate on them, on your problems for an hour with your eyes closed. Amazingly enough I couldn't. My thought went in the opposite direction. "Wow, I guess I don't have problems and the problems that I have are not problems at all." All you have to do is embrace your pain, let it crystallize and let go. Is everybody else around you at fault? Think again. You are not in control of others, the only person you can control is ... Right. You wish you could forget. You can. Just forget it. Or is there a reason you are hanging on?
